We went there on a Friday night and it was really crowded and the place was clearly under staffed. Everyone was super friendly though even though they seemed extreemly busy. We started out with something that was called a blt but it had fish in it and boy was it good! Then I wanted the pan seared haliburt but hey were out so I ended up with the burger which is always solid choice. To top it off I had some caramel slightly salted and it was a taste of heaven. All this was very pleasant and I would have put loved it if it wasn't for the under staffed issue and my coffee was cold.

This place was weirdly empty when I went, but it usually looks full in the evenings, so I'll have to go back some time and check it out when I'm not in the only group in the place. I think that would make it less awkward...

The food was good, the space is pretty, the staff was friendly, and it seems like a really nice place to grab a brew. If I liked beer, that is.

I went to Alchemy for brunch today and ended up getting a burger. The burger was decent but nothing special. My girlfriend ordered the Guiness pancakes and those were delicious. Highly recommended and worth going back for. I also really like the space inside. From the outside it looks like it's going to be dark but there was plenty of sunshine today and the interior is suprisingly spacious.

We visited Alchemy very soon after opening, and during restaurant week to boot. The food was very good but a little overpriced. The service was friendly but belied the newness of the place--highlights were spectacularly shattered dropped dishes, and one waitress falling on her butt. All in all, though, I enjoyed dinner and look forward to trying it again when they have a little more experience under their belts and aren't overrun with slumming Manhattanites.
